First Aid At Work Requalification (Blended) Course

This course is for people wishing to renew an existing, valid First Aid at Work certificate.

If your certificate has expired you are still able to attend this course, but the HSE recommends you attend the First Aid at Work (3 day course) iif more than a month has elapsed since expiry. Please note that the requalification course is an intensive course with very little practice time and designed for people whose certificate is still in date. If you do decide to attend the requalification course you will need to work at the pace of the course.

Part 1: Online

This part of the course is self-directed and is expected to take a day to complete. You can complete the modules at your own pace in your own environment providing you the flexibility you need. The online training must be completed within the 6 weeks prior to your face-to-face training.

The online section of this course must be completed before attending the face-to-face section. 

Part 2: Face-to-face (at a training venue)

You'll be in the classroom for 1 day, and on this day you will be in a small group with fellow blended coursemates. The day will be led by a specialist trainer.

  • Low blood sugar

  • Minor and severe bleeding
  • Poisons and what to do if someone has been poisoned
  • Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)
  • Seizures
  • Shock
  • Spinal injuries
  • Stroke
  • Unresponsive adult

Certification

First Aid at Work Requalification Level 3 Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded the FRFA Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate valid for 3 years

Accreditation

This course is accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) in accordance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Suggested Progression

  • Recommended annual refresher training
  • Mandatory requalification training every three years
